About the Artist: Chulan Kwak (b.1979)
Chulan Kwak has established a distinctive sculptural language that reinterprets the calligraphic brushstroke as spatial form, fluidly navigating the relationship between material and structure. Working with wood and metal through 3D modeling and unfolded construction, he intuitively assembled rhythmic, meticulously constructed volumes. Transcending the boundaries between furniture and sculpture, his practice explores a dynamic interplay of tension and release, form and perception – offering a sensorial engagement with space and rhythm.
